WOODBINE
The fragrant woodbine vine gave its name to the racetrack that opened here in 1874 and then to the street itself. Down by the beach, a stretch known as The Cut became a Prohibition hideout, known for rum runners and late-night mischief. Not everything about this area was so sweet.
